The good grows on flower-beds without weeds
and vermin, and each human being is its sower. However, it is possible
to find weeds in any garden.
These weeds in a garden of the world consist of famine, ethnocentrism,
separatism, extremism, fanaticism, drug addiction and terrorism shaking
us today.
The events of last years, connected to acts of terrorism all over
the world, make us think seriously of what occurs today and what awaits
us in the future. The gamut of terrorism amazes with its global scale.
Explosions in Tashkent, organized by radical groupings, problems of
the Arab-Israeli conflict, the Spanish Basques, a movement of the
Irish Republican army in the Great Britain, red Khmers in Southeast
Asia, the legendary Chechen Republic, explosions in the Moscow underground
and the theatre center "North Ost", the New York tragedy
on September, 11, and, at last, universal attacks of radical groupings
of Ben Laden and Al-Qaeda in league with Taliban movement in Afghanistan,
that stunned the whole world. |
Hundreds of thousands of innocent people suffer today,
and that is the consequence of terrorist acts.
One of the proximate nexuses of terrorism is the drug addiction with
organized worldwide narcotraffic through which every possible narcoproducts
are transported and distributed. Narcotic is a stimulus of "heroism"
for students and level of the population, living in misery over economic
poverty and vital hopelessness, and it is a provocation of various
sorts of madness, including terrorism.
Political and public organizations try to struggle with a plague of
XXI century all over the world, mobilizing military and public forces
where the duty of each conscious citizen is his direct or indirect
intervention in a process of confrontation to terrorism and its direct
interaction with narcotraffic and drug addiction.

ITESA (Independent Trade Enterprise for
Special Events & Advertising) conducts "STOP TERROR"
international action with participation of honored workers of culture
of Republic of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Russia at "Turkistan"
palace … … … this year.
The representatives of state political, economic and public structures,
the youth organizations, a diplomatic corps, embassies and foreign
delegations will attend at this international action.
In the runtime project it is planned to conduct tele-radio marathon,
and also give a demonstration of documentary film about people, who
were hard hit by acts of terrorism in various corners of the world,
with the purpose of elevation of patriotic spirit, increase of civil
consciousness of our youth and population as a whole.
Walrus Charity organization being also the organizer of the given
project, will carry out a sports marathon of east struggle, swimming,
race and karate for sportsmen of Uzbekistan and students of sports
institutions, at support of Olympic Committee and the State Sport
committee of Uzbekistan. |
During the campaign there will be carried out a charitable sale of posters,
football-jerseys and other attributes with autographs of variety performers
and sports stars of Republic Uzbekistan and other countries of the world.
All sum received from the donation of citizens and organizations, and also
from carrying out of a charitable fair will be transferred to families and
victims of terrorist acts in Tashkent on the 16th of February, 1999, and
also to specially organized fund at Republican narcological hospital for
purchase of the test materials and medicines for treatment of drug abusers.
The management of ITESA and Walrus foundation applies for assistance and
support of the given project to the Cabinet of Republic of Uzbekistan, the
Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republic of Uzbekistan, to Ministry of Health
of Republic of Uzbekistan, to public organization "Soglom Avlod Uchun",
to Representation of the United Nations in Uzbekistan, to the International
Red Cross both foreign embassies and missions in Tashkent, we wish to express
our respect and hope for participation of above-listed organizations in
conducting of international action "STOP TERROR". We shall be
very grateful to the commercial and joint-stock organizations for rendering
of financial support to this project that will serve as your contribution
and an example in process of strengthening of civil consciousness in struggle
against terrorism. |
